Nationally designated scenic spot Murin-an, once the villa of Aritomo Yamagata, the garden designer of Jihei Ogawa VII, is one of the few private villas remaining in Higashiyama that is open to the public. Please take a look at the Japanese garden and the buildings that stand side by side in Japanese and Western styles, with new ideas that are transitioning to the modern age in Japan. Although it is currently owned by the city of Kyoto, we will cooperate in a small way so that we can continue to maintain the wonderful Japanese culture here.

Here on the 2nd floor of the main building, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, the works of haiga classes in Kyoto and Tokyo will be exhibited. The second floor of the main building is for the protection of cultural properties, so the number of people is limited and the general public cannot go up. After paying the entrance fee at the reception, Please tell them that you came to the haiku classroom exhibition. The person in charge will guide you.
